Lip Blushing Aftercare: Everything You Need to Know for Flawless Healing
Getting a lip blush tattoo is a game-changer for soft, tinted lips without the need for constant reapplying lipstick. But proper healing is essential to getting the best results. We provide the aftercare information in the image above to our clients in studio. There are a few things we want to make sure to avoid right after your lip blushing appointment so be sure to plan ahead before booking. Avoid kissing or any direct content with lip that will cause friction. Saunas, Tanning beds, pools, and steam rooms. Try not to participate in a heavy work out or any excessive sweating, and do not apply any makeup or skincare products to your lips after your service.
Here’s how to take care of your lips post-appointment:
Day 1 AFTER LIP BLUSHING:
-
Gently wipe your lips with clean water every 3 hours using a cotton pad or sterile wipe.
-
Drink only through a straw to avoid direct contact with your lips.
-
Avoid oily, spicy, or hot foods that may irritate the area.
Days 2–7 AFTER LIP BLUSHING:
-
Do not pick, rub, or peel the flaking skin — this can affect pigment retention.
-
Apply a light layer of the healing balm provided at the studio 2–3x per day or as needed.
-
Continue drinking through a straw and avoiding makeup or harsh skincare products on the lips.
What to Expect:
-
Lips may appear brighter or bolder initially. This is normal. Color will soften as healing progresses.
-
Some dryness or peeling is expected during the healing phase.
Following this aftercare ensures your new lip color heals evenly and retains pigment beautifully.
