Nightly Routine: 10-Minute Quick Clean
After a busy day, a realistic cleaning schedule starts with a quick and efficient nighttime routine. Here’s what I do before I end each night:
- Pick Up & Organize: I quickly tidy up, picking up items from the floor and setting aside anything that needs soaking or sanitizing the next day.
- Sanitizing Prep: I place items needing a deep clean into small, labeled bins, ready for sanitizing in the morning.
- Automate with a Robot Vacuum: To save time, I set my robot vacuum to run each night, so I return to a clean floor every morning.
Morning Routine: Start the Day Fresh
In the morning, my realistic cleaning schedule focuses on setting up the space and ensuring everything is fresh and ready:
- Hot Water Start-Up: I run hot water to prep for cleaning and sanitizing tools.
- Quick Task Completion: In about 10 minutes, I finish any leftover tasks from the night before.
- Dry & Organize: I dry all sanitized tools, put them back in their designated spots, and organize any items that were set aside.
- Set the Ambiance: I light a candle and do a quick 5-minute reorganization to create an inviting, polished look.
Weekly Deep Clean: Floors, Sinks, and High-Touch Surfaces
My realistic cleaning schedule includes a weekly deep clean to ensure the entire space is spotless. Here’s how I make it happen:
- Prep & Pick-Up:
- I start by picking up items from surfaces and run the robot vacuum again.
- At the same time, I start a load of laundry with towels, cleaning pads, and linens.
- Tackle One Deep-Clean Area Per Week:
- Each week, I choose a specific focus area (like walls, door frames, or baseboards) for a deeper clean, so I don’t feel like I have to do everything at once.
- Disinfect High-Touch Areas:
- I spray down high-touch surfaces with disinfectant, including the bathroom, and let it set for thorough cleaning.
- Glass & Mirrors:
- I clean mirrors, windows, and glass doors, ensuring they’re streak-free.
- Quick Sweep & Floor Prep:
- After a quick sweep, I fill the Shark buffer steam mop and get ready to sanitize the floors.
- Steam Mop All Floors:
- Starting from one end, I mop through all six rooms, and the hallway, break room, bathroom, and each suite. This can be done in homes as well its basically just starting at one end and finishing somewhere else. I have a long extension cord that I use when I don’t want to unplug and replug lol 😆
- Final Wipe-Down & Trash Removal:
- After everything has dried, I wipe down surfaces, disinfect any items picked up earlier, and finish by emptying all trash bins.
Monthly Maintenance: Cleaning Tools Care
A truly realistic cleaning schedule doesn’t stop at just the space. I also make sure to clean my robot vacuum and steam mop monthly to keep them working efficiently. This step ensures they’re always ready to tackle daily and weekly routines without any issues.
With this realistic cleaning schedule, I’m able to keep my salon suites and lash studio consistently clean without spending hours each day. By breaking it down into simple, manageable steps, I can provide a pristine and welcoming environment for my clients every time they visit. A practical, easy-to-follow cleaning schedule is key to creating a beautiful space—and a beautiful experience—for everyone who walks through the door! I have tested and proven that this system works week after week. Now I am just thinking about how to better optimize my cleaning at home to this level.
