This blog will cover everything you need to know about bridal hair and makeup to walk down that aisle flawlessly!
So, Why should you trust me? Well, I have been working in the bridal industry as a beauty professional since 2014! Due to having a literal decade of experience, I am a trusted source for ensuring you look your best on the big day.
The Bridal Hair
Understand now, that most of the photos you see of bridal hair have hair extensions or hair forms, or hair donuts. A hair form is just something we add to the look on the inside hidden beneath the hair to give you a fuller look. If you are reading this blog you have probably already been down the rabbit hole that is wedding “Pinterest”.
Keep in mind most of those photos do not show the face of the person. Therefore, you need to think about what you want the front of the hair to look like as well as the back of the hair. If you wish to incorporate hair extensions into your look make sure to purchase human hair extensions. Anything else will melt the second it comes into contact with heat.
Typically, when we say this most people think 🤔 “that’s just another thing to add to my budget, those are pricey”. Trust me, your hair makes a big difference and you need to come to your trial with it as close to how it will look on the big day as possible. The good news is I have been recommending these extensions for years they preform well and hold the style all night long! The price point is really so much more affordable than people realize and the best part? You can reuse them time and time again. I prefer that brides order extensions from amazon because; we can clip them into place where needed, the color match doesn’t have to be exact the first time, the length can be swapped out easily, and Amazon makes returns so simple and timely.
Pro tip: You may also want to book your appointment with your hairstylist before even booking your trail for wedding hair. This way you can ensure the color is where you want it. The hair around the face has framing if you want pieces down and any trims that need to be done are taken care of.
The Bridal Makeup
Booking your makeup does not take quite as much preparation. You do however, need to communicate to your artist what you like and don’t like. Keep in mind that it is important for you to feel like yourself and comfortable.
Pro tip: Make sure to book all facial waxing 2 days before the Makeup trial. Two Facials that I, as a Makeup Artist highly recommend are;
the hydro facial and derma planing.
Both of these help makeup to apply smoothly.
The trial is the time to try something like a winged liner if you have been wanting to or your lip color options. I have found when brides select an inspirational photo that is completely different than how they regularly wear their makeup they do not feel like themselves and bring it back to authenticity.
Get on the books
After you have a few looks selected. Start by shopping around by looking up Makeup Artists on Instagram . Book the appointment for your trial a few months out from the wedding so you have time to shop around if you end up not liking the first trial.
Keep in mind the number of people you are looking to include in the services so that you can communicate that with the company and your timeline is seamless.
Here at Siroki Lash Studio we do Hair and Makeup services and work with award-winning teams in the Jacksonville Area.
The Lashes
At this point, your hair and makeup should have been selected. Now, look at the work of different Lash Artists that correlate with that look. Show the lash artist of your choosing the desired look you are going for and your lash extensions should complement that look the best. Keep in mind your lashes should be done for the day of your wedding with the wedding day look in mind.
THESE ARE NOT EVERYDAY LASHES!

- Stay on for up to two weeks!
- Get a DIY lash Kit or Segmented lashes and provide it to your Makeup Artist on the day of so you have lashes that last beyond all day, into the night, even into the honeymoon Eliminate the worry of a lash lifting.
Bridal Makeup and Hair: Planning Ahead
Booking ahead of time is important because it takes time when you’re finding your specific artist, and making sure your hair and makeup results exactly what you like. Those are just the obvious factors.
Another factor we often overlook is allergic reactions. It is not only about the final look. The last thing we want is for you to get a rash or terrible breakout right before the wedding. I’m not being dramatic, I promise, I have seen this happen! If you are concerned about having an allergic reaction communicate that with your artists.
You can book an allergy test for lashes here.
