PMU Brows FAQ: Everything You Need to Know Before Booking

How bad is the scabbing?

Scabbing is a completely normal part of the healing process, and it’s not as intense as people often imagine. After your brows are done, the skin needs time to heal. Here’s what most clients experience:

Day 1–3: Brows appear darker and bolder than expected. This is temporary.
Day 4–7: Light flaking and small scabs form. It looks more like dry skin than heavy scabbing.
Day 8–14: Most flaking is gone, but the pigment may look lighter than expected.
Week 4–6: Final healed results appear as the color evens out.

The most important thing is to avoid picking or scratching. Letting the flakes fall off naturally ensures the pigment stays intact.

What are the after effects of PMU brows?

Mild redness or tenderness in the first day or two.
Brows appearing darker before fading to the natural healed color.
Some itchiness as the skin repairs itself.

These are all normal parts of healing. By the end of the first week, most clients are surprised at how simple the process actually is.

What not to do before your appointment

To achieve the best healed results, avoid the following at least 24–48 hours before your appointment:

No alcohol or caffeine, as both can thin the blood.
No aspirin, ibuprofen, or blood-thinning medications unless prescribed by your doctor.
No tanning or sunburns. Healthy skin takes pigment more effectively.
No retinol, Accutane, or strong skincare actives near the brow area.

How to prep for the best results

Arrive with clean skin and no makeup.
Stay hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment.
Avoid waxing or threading brows at least a week before.
Bring inspiration photos if you have a specific style in mind.
